Mud Hole Hosts CCA’s 26th Annual Orlando BBQ Fundraiser

Family-Friendly Event Raises $30,000 to Support Marine Resources Across Florida

In their continued partnership focused on conserving, protecting and restoring Florida’s marine ecosystems, Mud Hole Custom Tackle hosted CCA Florida’s 26th Annual Orlando BBQ fundraiser on Friday evening with more than 150 guests in attendance. The familyfriendly event took place in Mud Hole’s 5,000 square foot Curt Baker Memorial Education Center in Oviedo and included a live band, silent auction, open bar, dinner provided by Mission BBQ, and kidfriendly hands-on exhibits. The event generated an estimated $30,000 in funds to support CCA Florida’s conservation initiatives across the state.

“We are proud to support CCA’s continued conservation efforts here in our home state,” said Brook Oliva, Foundation Outdoor Group and Mud Hole President and COO. “The 26th Annual BBQ was a great success and we’re so pleased to participate and support the event in any way possible. We raised significant funds, enjoyed some great food and music, and had a great time throughout the evening.”

In addition to his leadership at Foundation Outdoor Group, Mr. Oliva also serves as the CCA Orlando Chapter President and was appointed to CCA Florida’s Management Committee earlier this year, both volunteer positions. A UCF graduate and Florida native, Brook grew up on Central Florida’s lakes, rivers, and coastlines. Paired with his twenty-four-year career in the sportfishing industry, Mr. Oliva has a unique, firsthand perspective regarding the challenges and pressures impacting our fisheries and habitats.

“We’re so pleased to partner with Brook and the entire team at Mud Hole for this year’s BBQ event,” CCA Florida Executive Director Brian Gorski said. “The facility was perfect for our guests, contributors and entertainment. Not only was it an entertaining evening, we exceeded our attendance and fundraising goals, which will help us to drive awareness and action in support of preserving our marine environments.”
